The value of the non-executive director

Apache Partners provides the services of Paul Forsyth to act as a non-executive director (NED).

​

A non- executive director (NED) is a member of a company's board of directors who is not part of the executive team. He or she will bring in additional skills and experience to complement those of the existing board members and senior management team.

​

A NED typically does not engage in the day-to-day management of the organisation but is involved in policymaking and planning exercises. In addition, an NED's responsibilities include the monitoring of the executive directors and acting in the interest of the company stakeholders.

 

NEDs are also responsible for keeping the executive directors and the entire board accountable. These directors can do this by helping with and managing a company's strategy, performance, and risk from an objective standpoint unrelated to the intimacy of day-to-day operations.
